Es war ein Event der Superlative:

mehr als 30 Teilnehmer aus ganz Deutschland trafen sich am letzten Samstag in Köln, um bei The Big Trick national mit den abgedrehtesten Powermoves und den spektakulärsten Combos (Kombinationen aus „Tricks“ bzw. Moves) nicht nur das Publikum, sondern auch ihre Gegner zu beeindrucken. Über 300 Zuschauer pilgerten am Ostersamstag zum Move Artistic Dome, Europas größter Trainingshalle für die jungen Trendsportarten Tricking, Parkour und Freerunning. Das Setting hätte nicht besser sein können: strahlender Sonnenschein und eine ausgelassene Stimmung schon am Einlaß, Offstage-Tricking-Sessions unter freiem Himmel und bereits in der Halle, kurz vor dem Event.

Punkt 17.00Uhr startete The Big Trick mit einer fulminaten Openingshow: Urban Wings, das Parkour und Freerunning- Showteam aus dem Hause Move Productions performte gemeinsam mit Star-Choreograph Seimn einen überragenden Showact aus Tanz, Akrobatik, Parkour und Freerunning.

Ohne dem Publikum eine Atempause zu gönnen, eröffnete Deutschlands Top-Sportmoderator Amiaz (u.a. Host bei den Köln99ers, Basketball 1.Bundeliga) gemeinsam mit Hip-Hop-DJ Ice-C das nationale Crossover-Battle des Jahres. „Manni“, seines Zeichens Beatboxer deluxe, heizte dazu die Stimmung nochmal so richtig an.

Dann war es so weit: die hochkarätige Jury betrat nicht etwa die Bühne, sondern flippte, breakte und turnte sich auf die Stage von The Big Trick national. In der Jury saßen: Marc Dressen (28), Begründer von Move Artistic und The Big Trick, Sofien Rhazi, Tänzer und Capoeira-Profi und „Dobi“, selbst Tricker, der als Experte aus der Community in die Jury gewählt wurde.

Jury und Publikum bekamen die Fasziniation der Sportart Tricking auf allerhöchstem Niveau zu sehen: die Teilnehmer konnten in den Kategorien Einzel(1on1), Team(3on3) und in der neuen Kategorie Show antreten. Schon die Eingangsbattles in der Kategorie Einzel ließen erahnen, was den Zuschauer im Laufe des Abends erwarten würde: abgefahrendste Salto- und Twistvariationen, gepaart mit Moves aus Breakdance und Capoeira und immer neue Variationen aus Bewegungen, die allein in der Vorstellung schon Schwindelgefühle auslösen können; es war ein Abend der Höhepunkte und vor allem ein Abend, der zeigte, wozu der menschliche Körper aus eigener Kraft fähig ist. Wer Tricking bis Samstag nicht kannte, der erlebte beim Kölner Event die gesamte Bandbreite des jungen Sports vermischt mit dem speziellen Spirit und Feeling, den diese hippe Community ausmacht: denn auch wenn man als Kombatant auf der Matte steht (es handelt sich hier um Sprungboden, der auch z.B. beim olympischen Turnen genutzt wird), so verbindet diese außergewöhnliche Gemeinschaft am Ende doch vor allem Freundschaft und gegenseitige Anerkennung. Wo sonst steht sich man in einem Wettkampf gegenüber (bei dem es immerhin um die Qualifizierung für den internationalen The Big Trick Ende 2009 geht) und gratuliert seinem Kontrahenten noch im laufenden Battle zu einer geglückten (oder auch fast geglückten) Combo oder einem schier unglaublichen Powermove.

Die Teilnehmer kamen aus dem ganzen Land, von Bremen bis Stuttgart und auch, wenn der eine oder andere im Vorfeld als Favorit galt, so entwickelte sich The Big Trick national so spannend, daß zwischenzeitlich alle Prognosen ins Wanken gerieten.

Im Halbfinale standen sich das Team Trixtreme (Bremen) und Trickstorm (Raum Steinfurt) in Gruppe A und das Team Bay (Mönchengladbach) gegen Team Flashwip (Raum NRW) in Gruppe B gegenüber. Gewinner der Kategorie Team 3on3 wurde Flashwip. 2. wurde das Team Trixtreme. Die beiden jeweils Erst- und Zweitplatzierten einer Kategorie qualifizierten sich für The Big Trick international.
Im Einzel starteten die Teilnehmer ebenfalls in 2 Gruppen, Favorit Markus aka „Fresh“ in Gruppe 1, zusammen mit Pascal, Flow, Nader und Mehau, in Gruppe 2 starteten Florian, Quang, Cem, Simon, Danny und Sefa.
Das Single-Battle funktionierte nach dem King-of-the-Hill-Prinzip, d.h. Es gilt mit Moves vorzulegen, die der Gegner direkt beantwortet und die Jury entscheidet mit Handzeichen, wer von beiden einen Punkt bekommt. Hat man 5 (in der ersten Runde, im Finale 8) Punkte zusammen, ist man Gewinner dieses Battles.

Im Finale des 1on1 standen sich Pascal, Florian und Markus gegenüber. Mit-Favorit Quang schied freiwillig im Finale aus. Das Finale erwies sich als überaus spannend und brillierte mit Tricking-Moves auf dem allerhöchsten, ja Welt-Niveau.

Sieger nach einem harten (und für das Publikum genauso spektakulären ) Battle wurde Markus aka Fresh (übrigens Lokal-Matador aus Hennef bei Köln), der als erster 8 Punkte erlangte. Zweiter des Einzelfinales wurde Florian, dritter Pascal.

Die neue Kategorie Show wurde vom Move Artistic Profi-Showteam „Energetrix“ eröffnet; Idee dieser neuen Disziplin war einerseits die Marktfähigkeit des Sports und seiner Akteure in den Vordergrund zu stellen, andererseits nochmal die unglaubliche Vielfalt der unterschiedlichen Styles zu präsentieren, die Tricking ausmachen. Im ersten Event mit dieser neuen Kategorie traten zwei Teams an, nämlich New Basic Moves und die StreetStyleCrew. Beide waren automatisch für The Big Trick national gesetzt, da keine weiteren Showteams antraten. New Basic Moves überzeugte mit einer stylischen Breakdance-Performance und erzielte den ersten Platz, die Streetstyle Crew zeigte eine Mischung aus XMA (Xtreme Martial Arts) und Tricking und gelangte auf den zweiten Platz.

The Big Trick national exceeded all expectations

The new category show was opend by professional Move Artistic Show Team “Energetrix”. The idea of this new discipline was to see viability of the sport and its players to the fore to make the other again, the incredible diversity of different styles to present the total tricking. In the first event with this new category were two teams, namely New Basic Moves and Street Style Crew. Both were automatically set for The Big Trick national, because no other teams show replayability. New Basic Moves convincing break with a stylish performance and achieved the first place, the Street Style Crew showed a mixture of XMA (Xtreme Martial Arts) and tricking and came in second place.
